CrestWood Communities Celebrates 45 Years!

1978-2023

A Legacy Built With Family Traditions

After moving from Chicago to Los Angeles in the 1940s to pursue work as a building inspector for the City of Los Angeles, Gregg Kent quickly began building what would eventually become an extraordinary, family-owned home building company. In 1947, he and his wife, Peggy, formed the Gregg P. Kent Corporation and began making a name for himself in the homebuilding industry throughout the Greater San Gabriel Valley—thus beginning his family's long-standing legacy in the industry.

    The Beginning Of CrestWood Communities

After decades of building trust with their superior workmanship, the next generation was eager to continue the legacy. Brother and sister, Mike Kent and Kitty Kent Garvey, along with their spouses, Diane and Mike, officially founded CrestWood Communities in 1978—as they continued to follow in their father’s footsteps and elevate the already well-known business, their continuous pride in building outstanding, affordable homes for families living in the Inland Empire never wavered. CrestWood Communities built its future on the unshakeable family tradition of building excellence, and with integrity, trust and an unwavering sense of family at the forefront of the work they do—it has brought them immeasurable success over the years.

The Third Generation Picks Up The Mantle

The third generation of Kents and Garveys were up next and joined the CrestWood Communities founders beginning in 1985. Terry Kent and Daniel and Patrick Garvey were immersed in the family traditions early in life. Having grown up in the family business, they brought a sense of pride for the family values upon which this legacy is built as well as an appreciation for new ideas to help shape the future of CrestWood Communities. They learned the importance of putting family first and they extend that to all those who live in CrestWood Communities homes. They have been instrumental in building quality single-family homes that expertly blend together innovative design, stylish architecture and preferred amenities to enhance each carefully selected community setting.

          What Our
          Homebuyers Are Saying

The quality and little details were big improvements over the other homes we looked at. We weren't just looking at 'right now,' but also how the home will sell in the future. When you think about resale value and compare standard features and upgrades, they were the best!
